Dorian Bennett, a baby born two months prematurely and who spent more than 50 days in neonatal ICU, was sent home by his parents to receive a bill for more than $550,000. This was despite the fact that Bennett had insurance. A Florida hospital offered a less-than-helpful suggestion: Monthly payments of more than $45,000 per year.
